In and around Tremosine sul Garda

In order to fully appreciate the scenic beauty of Pieve, you first have to travel up the Brasa gorge, where the rock has been gouged out, almost tortured, by the river for centuries.
Tremosine consists of eighteen little villages. One of them, Campione, lies down by the lake, the others – Ariàs, Bassa nega, Cadignano, Castone, Mezzema, Musio, Pregasio, Priezzo, Secastello, Sermerio, Sompriezzo, Ustecchio, Vesio, Villa, Voiandes, Voltino, and Pieve, the main one – are scattered ali over the spectacular plateau. The 72-km2 municipality is among the largest in the province of Brescia. Set in the Alto Garda Bresciano Park, it has a highly varied landscape, with tiny hamlets wedged between valleys, on mounds, hillocks, uplands covered in olive groves, meadows and pine forests.
Tremosine can also be reached from Limone and Tignale, a long the Tignalga road. Numerous mule-tracks wind their way slowly up the mountainside to where the borderwithAustro-Hungarian empirestood untii1918.Amongthe prettiestones are those leading from San Michele and Bondo to Tremalzo, in the direction of Valle di Ledro. This region is a veritable paradise for excursionists and mountainbikers, even the most demanding. The most loyal tourists are the Germans, followed by the Swiss, Belgians and Austrians. Tremosine provides “green” tourists and sports lovers with plenty of facilities, including itineraries for hikers and mountain-bikers throughout the lovely Alto Garda Bresciano Park and well-organised logistic services.
The pristine environment is undoubtedly the most attractive aspect, with landscapes and vistas of rare beauty, shared between the mountains and the lake. As you enter Val di Bondo, heading for Passo Nota an d Passo Tremalzo, you fin d
